Danny Briggs

Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

I believe that many of our struggles stem from outdated beliefs we’ve learned about ourselves—whether from past experiences or the influence of others. Sometimes, we continue to carry habits or behaviours that no longer serve us. Through therapy, I help clients explore who they are, letting go of what no longer fits and creating space for growth and change.

As a UKCP-accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I take an integrative approach, drawing on Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and CBT theories to tailor sessions to each individual. I work relationally, which is at the heart of my work, providing a safe and supportive space to reflect, heal, and move forward. We are two people in a room. I bring myself, and I ask you to do the same.

I am particularly interested in the stories we tell ourselves and how they shape our view of the world, relationships, and responses to life’s challenges. We can uncover new perspectives and open the door to meaningful change by bringing awareness. I have had experience teaching emotional skills to groups and for one-to-one counselling. I have found that offering psychoeducation and creativity can be valuable tools in this process, offering different ways to understand and express experiences.

My background includes working with trauma, sexual abuse, and mental health challenges, both in private practice and the charity sector. Above all, I prioritise a confidential, ethical, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their struggles.
